Readathon, TBR

My Reading Rush TBR

After the 24in48 Readathon this weekend (a success with 24+ hours read), I swore I was going to take a break, but then I saw The Reading Rush readathon which runs 7/22-28. I resisted, I said I wasn’t going to do it and then I went to my bookshelf and started pulling books. As it turns out, I found books on my shelves and on my reading lists to fit all of the prompts, so… I gave in and signed up! (I swear, the day will come when I pass on a readathon… maybe!) I’m not going to aim to actually finish ALL of these, but here’s my TBR:

Read a book with purple on the cover

I just picked AURORA RISING by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff up very recently, so I’m excited to have a slot to throw this on my list!

Read a book in the same spot the entire time

I feel like I’m cheating a little bit on this one since it’s so short, but my library hold on WIT by Margaret Edson came in which is my pick for a play on the Reading Women Reading Challenge and I need to make sure I get it read this month!

Read a book you meant to read last year

I have a lot of contenders for this one on my shelves! I went with HOTEL ON THE CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET by Jamie Ford. I had planned to include this in one of my reading challenges in 2018 and made a last minute switch.

Read an author’s first book

SLEEPING GIANTS by Sylvain Neuvel has been recommended to me by a few bookstagrammers and it happens to be the author’s debut!

Read a book with a non-human main character

I struggled the most with this one. My book isn’t pictured because I only have it on Kindle, but I had flagged DOG ON IT by Spencer Quinn for the Book Riot Reading Harder challenge animal or inanimate object POV. A dog detective POV… sounds bizarre enough to be potential fun!

Read a book that has five or more words in the title

Going with ONE OF US IS LYING by Karen M. McManus for this one since I didn’t get to it for this weekend’s readathon. It is another one that has been on my TBR a long time!

Read and watch a book to movie adaptation

THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER by Stephen Chbosky is again a book that has been on my TBR for ages and I have not yet seen the adaptation, so it seems this week may be the week!

Are you participating in The Reading Rush? Let me know!

  1. Short books aren’t cheating (I am only adamant because I have a couple short books on my TBR). Have a great week!
