Month In Review

A look back at August…

August had some ups and downs for my reading. A few heavy books (weight wise, content wise) made my progress feel slower, but I also had some fantastic reads that flew by. Two readathons during the month helped as well. I wound up reading 28 books this month which is more than I had originally anticipated (reviews linked below)!

Finishing this classic felt like a major accomplishment!

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE by Agatha Christie

ATHENA’S CHOICE by Adam Boostrom

BAD BLOOD: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by John Carreyrou

FANGIRL by Rainbow Rowell

HAG-SEED by Margaret Atwood

MISSING PERSON by Sarah Lotz (eARC; pub date 9/3/2019)

Reading this along with the SoCalBooksta group and meeting with some of them for brunch were definitely highlights for August!

ONE OF US IS LYING by Karen M. McManus

REWIND by Catherine Ryan Howard (eARC; pub date 9/3/2019)

QUICKER THAN THE EYE by Ray Bradbury

SADIE by Courtney Summers

THE BOOK OF M by Peng Shepherd

THE BOOKISH LIFE OF NINA HILL by Abbi Waxman

THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO by Alexandre Dumas

Such a fun story!

THE IMMORTAL LIFE OF HENRIETTA LACKS by Rebecca Skloot

THE JANE AUSTEN BOOKCLUB by Karen Joy Fowler

THE FIRST MISTAKE by Sandie Jones

THE LONG WALK by Stephen King

THE MURDER AT THE VICARAGE by Agatha Christie

THE RETREAT by Sherri Smith (eARC)

One of my favorites this month!

THE SATURDAY NIGHT GHOST CLUB by Craig Davidson

THE UNHONEYMOONERS by Christina Lauren

THE VENTRILOQUISTS by E.R. Ramzipoor

UNDER CURRENTS by Nora Roberts

WANDERERS by Chuck Wendig

A few more read in August with reviews to be posted soon:

THE FAR FIELD by Madhuri Vijay

THE TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ by Heather Morris

THE VANISHED BRIDE by Bella Ellis
(pub date 9/10/2019)

ZODIAC by Romina Russell

Have you read any of these? What were your favorite reads for August? I’d love to hear!
