REPUTATION by Sara Shepard (Out 12/3/2019)

Publication Date: 12/3/2019

Rating: 4 / 5

I was very excited to receive an ARC of REPUTATION by Sara Shepard from Penguin Group Dutton for an honest review.

REPUTATION is set in the college town surrounding Aldrich University. When a hacker makes their way into the university’s email systems and puts everyone’s emails into a publicly accessible database everyone is talking. It isn’t just the students and faculty impacted, the hack includes the alumni, medical center staff and more. Shocking secrets are brought to light and the people around Aldrich are on edge.

When Dr. Greg Strasser is found murdered not long after the hack reveals salacious emails with someone who is most definitely not his wife, all eyes point to his wife Kit. Kit’s sister Willa comes to town to offer her support, but she’s keeping secrets as well about what happened to her before leaving town years ago.

This book was a lot of fun to read! The story switches POV between several of the women impacted in one way or another by the hack and I found this to work pretty well. Their stories intertwine and getting to see different things from each of their eyes added to the story for me. These aren’t all lovable characters and there are a lot of poor decisions being made, but I still found myself rooting for many of these women to varying degrees.

The story is full of twists and turns and unexpected outcomes. There were a lot of twists that I really didn’t see coming which I loved. This had a good pace that kept me engaged throughout the story and flipping pages wanting to see what new twist Sara Shepard was going to throw at me next! She asks questions early on about the importance of reputation and how far you would go to protect yours.

REPUTATION is a book that I would recommend you add to your TBR. It will be published on December 3, 2019!
