THE WIVES by Tarryn Fisher

Rating: 4 / 5

THE WIVES by Tarryn Fisher was one of my Book of the Month picks for December and I was eager to pick it up this past weekend. I was in the mood for a fast paced, quick read and this was the perfect pick!

THE WIVES is told from the perspective of Thursday. Thursday is married to Seth who is only able to come home to her on Thursdays because he has two other wives known to Thursday as Monday and Tuesday. Keeping her unique lifestyle a secret from her friends and family, Thursday has been happy living the life she has with the man she loves, even if she only gets him for a couple days out of the week.

Recently Thursday has begun to question her lifestyle choices. Shaken by recent traumas in her life, she begins to wonder why it is so important that she doesn’t know anything about Seth’s other wives. Apart from the secret life she knows he is living, what other secrets is Seth keeping from her? As Thursday begins to investigate, her world begins to rapidly spiral out of control.

I went into THE WIVES only knowing the basic premise, that Thursday was living a polygamist life, so I really had no clue where this story was going! There were some twists that I had considered as possibilities, but some that I absolutely did not! It is hard to say a lot about this one without crossing into spoiler territory!

The ending felt a bit abrupt (I can’t really explain that without again getting into spoilers), but overall I really enjoyed THE WIVES and will absolutely look to read more by Tarryn Fisher!
