THE DATING CHARADE by Melissa Ferguson

Rating: 3.5 / 5

I have been part of the team hosting a buddy read for THE DATING CHARADE by Melissa Ferguson over the first couple weeks of February and it has been a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

THE DATING CHARADE begins with Cassie, a young woman burned out on blind dates that always go wrong. She has escape plans at the ready to deal with these catastrophes, but she’s ready to write off dating altogether. Enter Jett, a young man who knew her when they were younger and is willing to put in some effort to get Cassie back into the dating game.

The path to love is never smooth and this story is no different. As their relationship is just barely starting to get off the ground, Cassie winds up taking in three children. At the same time Jett is left with custody of his nieces and nephews. Neither wants to muddy the relationship waters by mentioning that they are coming in with extra baggage, so each hides their current situation.

This was a really fun read! It had me laughing in a few places and put a smile on my face. The antics of Jett and Cassie and the quirky cast of characters around them sometimes leave you questioning why they wouldn’t just communicate and clear things up, but at the same time… what would the fun be in that?

This was a perfect February rom com read for those who don’t read a lot of contemporary romance and are looking for a steam free read!
