Month In Review

A look back at March…

Wow did this month not shape up the way I thought it would when I put my massive March TBR together! It was a rough month for reading at times and at other times reading was a fantastic escape from reality and I got in extra reading. I almost didn’t get to everything I had originally intended (as of writing this I’m not sure if SIX OF CROWS by Leigh Bardugo or THINGS IN JARS by Jess Kidd really belong in my March stack, but I’m hopeful to finish tonight or by tomorrow for sure so they’re in the stack) and I added in a few that I hadn’t planned on.

I had some great buddy read chats this month and some spur of the moment video chats with bookish friends which all helped in the weird new ‘social distancing’ world we’re living in. As was pointed out by our mental health director in Los Angeles, it is really a time for physical distancing, not social distancing, so I am glad that I was able to connect socially with so many in the past weeks! Overall it was a good reading month in spite of the chaos of the world in general!

I had a few top book contenders this month, but THE MOUNTAINS SING by Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai is my pick for March favorite! If you haven’t checked this one out yet, it is well worth the read!
