I received a gifted galley of MOM JEANS AND OTHER MISTAKES by Alexa Martin for an honest review. Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Publication Date: 9/7/2021

Rating: 3.5 / 5

MOM JEANS AND OTHER MISTAKES follows Jude and Lauren who have nothing in common apart from a nearly lifelong friendship. Lauren is a single mom trying to raise her wonderful daughter Addy who has an absent father only recently starting to come back into their lives. Jude has had some insta fame as an influencer, but her relationship with her also semi-famous mother creates some extra strains on her life and her finances. With both friends facing difficult times, they decide to enact their childhood dream of living together. Jude can help raise Addy and they can both help each other make ends meet. When additional challenges come up in the form of Addy’s father, both of their challenging mothers and more, the heat is on.

I found this to be a fun read, though I at times struggled with both Jude and Lauren and their decisions. We get alternating perspectives from both of the women and there were quite a few times where I just wanted to beg them to communicate or make different decisions!

The women decide to launch a mom and womens’ lifestyle podcast in their plans to improve their lives and this is a lot of fun getting the mixed media of the podcast’s emails out to its growing fan base. I also really enjoyed seeing the strong relationship between the women even through the ups and downs.

This was an overall fun read! MOM JEANS AND OTHER MISTAKES is available now!
