MEET ME IN ANOTHER LIFE by Catriona Silvey

I received a gifted copy of MEET ME IN ANOTHER LIFE by Catriona Silvey! Thank you to William Morrow Books!

Rating: 3.5 / 5

MEET ME IN ANOTHER LIFE follows the complicated timeline of Thora and Santi. As two young people in a country that isn’t their own, they meet and form a quick bond. The relationship however does not last and tragedy strikes one of them down and cuts short their potential future.

As the book continues, Thora and Santi meet again and again through multiple lives, each time experiencing a different connection, ranging from adoptive parent/child, teacher/student, romantic, or platonic. Over time they begin to recognize the pattern and attempt to figure out why their many lives are so entwined.

This premise sounded right up my alley. I love the idea of multiple lives or timelines in fiction and unraveling what exactly is going on and how the author is going to bring things to a resolution. I listened to this one on audio and loved the way it was written throughout.

I am finishing this review well after I finished the book because it is a hard one to wrap up my thoughts on. It took a bit of time to adjust from an initial flirtatious relationship to finding these characters with age differences and familial relationships, but the point of their deep connection did come through even so. For the characters, at least initially, it is an entirely new start for each rebirth. The sections really read much like a collection of short stories.

This book is beautifully written with a very interesting premise, so I did really enjoy the reading experience overall! I am still not entirely sure how I felt about the ending, but I am still glad that I did pick this one up!
