Book Review

RELISH: MY LIFE IN THE KITCHEN by Lucy Knisley

Rating: 4.5 / 5

RELISH: MY LIFE IN THE KITCHEN by Lucy Knisley is a graphic memoir about the author’s life and her relation to food. She was raised by two foodie parents. Her mother who is featured most highly in the book was a chef and her father also has a passion for food. Lucy was raised around kitchens and food, both in city and rural settings. The book also includes recipes displayed in an illustrated format as well.

I picked this book up when looking through a list of books with recipes when I needed to fulfill a prompt. This one was recommended by a couple people and the graphic novel format had me intrigued. I really enjoyed the way this book combined food knowledge, personal life stories, and a good dose of humor throughout as well. There are quite a few recipes that sound great also!

I would recommend this one to my food loving friends looking for a fun take on a nonfiction read!
