THE CUBAN HEIRESS is set in 1934 aboard a cruise ship. We are following two women on a roundtrip between New York and Havana on the SS Morrow Castle. Catherine is among the New York elite and she seems to have everything going for her. Unfortunately she’s hiding a lot of secrets in her past and things go quickly awry. When she meets a jewel thief on board, it becomes an odd friendship, but perhaps just what she needs.

Elena is on the run, trying her best to fly under the radar on the ship. She is motivated by a plot for revenge, trying to get back all that she has lost and she’s hoping her time on board will give her the opportunity she needs.

I’ve been a bit wary about picking up a lot of historical fiction lately, but I trusted this author to deliver a captivating story and I was sucked in from the very beginning. This book was a fun mix of historical fiction and mystery/thriller with just enough romance and adventure to add a little something extra while not detracting from the main plotline.

I though that the two POVs were equally entertaining in this book and I really enjoyed both women’s characters. The author did a good job of weaving the two storylines and making the reader guess how they would overlap with slow reveals along the way.

THE CUBAN HEIRESS is well worth picking up and it is out today!
