Monday Morning Check In

Monday Reading Check In

I received a complimentary copy of LOST HOURS by Paige Shelton. Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press / Minotaur Books for the chance to read and provide an honest review.

Happy Monday and Happy December, friends! I hope that your month is off to a fantastic start!

For today’s #CurrentlyReading book, I am excited to be reading LOST HOURS which publishes tomorrow! This is the fifth book in the author’s Alaska Wild series which follows Beth Rivers who has come to Alaska to keep herself safe. Back home, she was abducted and while she managed to escape a couple days later, she received a serious head wound. Between the head wound and the trauma, Beth doesn’t remember what happened to her. She has come to Benedict, a small town in Alaska which seems the perfect place to stay off the radar, and keep her identity under wraps.

Now being five books into the series, there have been quite a few changes that I don’t want to get into to spoil previous books. It is now about a year after Beth arrived and she’s feeling very settled and starting to explore a bit more. When taking a tour of the glaciers, a woman is found with a story to tell of her own abduction and Beth can’t help but lend a sympathetic ear and get involved as things develop.

I really enjoy Beth’s character and the cozy feel of this Alaska town she has made home. I have really enjoyed visiting Alaska in the past, and the beauty of the glaciers which make this read extra fun! I’m looking forward to finishing off this book and will look forward to more from Paige Shelton in the future. LOST HOURS is out tomorrow!

In other reading, I working on LORD OF CHAOS by Robert Jordan for the #WheelOfTimeAlong ahead of the upcoming live show. It’s a big one, at around 1000 pages depending on the edition, so it’s going to take some time to actually finish it, but I’m chipping away at the audio during my commute each day and actually enjoying this one a fair bit. Apart from this one I’m actually caught up on my advent calendar reading, so will probably add something new to the mix today on audio while I work!

What are you starting off December reading? I’d love to hear!
