Book Review

YOU BELONG HERE by Megan Miranda

I received a gifted copy of YOU BELONG HERE by Megan Miranda from Simon & Schuster and I received a gifted audiobook from Simon Audio!

Rating: 3.5 / 5

YOU BELONG HERE begins with Beckett driving her daughter Delilah to college in her old hometown of Wyatt Valley. Her parents taught there and she fully expected to graduate from there herself, but a tragedy struck during her senior year and she wound up finishing out her college experience elsewhere with no plans to ever return. She’s worried about Delilah going to school here and it soon seems that her worries weren’t unfounded.

I went into this book without knowing much about it, but I love a good dark academia thriller so I went in with high hopes. Overall I found this an engaging read with several threads of mystery that kept me engaged and wondering what was going on. The story goes back and forth in time between Beckett’s and Delilah’s college days.

I did feel like there were some slower parts to the story as Beckett is looking into things. I also wasn’t as drawn into the storyline centering around Beckett’s relationship with Delilah’s father. Still, there were twists and turns to the story that I didn’t expect which I enjoyed!

YOU BELONG HERE is out today!
