Happy Monday, book friends! Today kicks off the second week of my advent calendar life this month and so far it’s been going well. I had a very chill weekend at home and I’ve managed to stay caught up (so far) with the blanket I’m making with one of my crochet calendars and my reading has mostly been on track too for the advent prompts. Yesterday wound up being a bit busier than anticipated and I was exhausted last night for no particular reason, but I did finish my reading for all seven prompts so far as of yesterday.
In non-advent related reading, I am slowly but surely making my way through CREATURE OF THE VOID by Wend Raven. This is a self-published sequel and one I’ve been highly anticipating since I read the first book, MASTER OF THE VOID, for the SPFBO competition. This one kept getting pushed back a bit because it isn’t short and it is only in physical/ebook. I also worried that I might have waited too long after book one and would have forgotten a lot, but I needn’t have worried! It took just a bit to get settled back into these characters and the world and I’ve been having a great time with this! It is big on world exploration so we’re getting a lot of fun world building which is always a favorite element for me!
Since this isn’t helping me keep up with my advent calendar, I am just reading a bit of this each night before bed, but I’m making my way through even faster than expected because it is so easy to just want to read one more chapter… a few times!
