THE BRIDESMAID is set against the backdrop of THE wedding of the year. The bride Adrianna’s family is a big deal in the world of celebrities and they are sparing no expenses when it comes to putting on the wedding events. Things take a strange turn when one of the bridesmaids is murdered in the days leading up to the main event.
Holly Stone is a forensic attorney and she’s brought in to take another look at things. She’s soon recruited to go undercover as the replacement bridesmaid to get access to the suspects and the settings and to get answers. This isn’t the first time Adrianna has been the focus of criminal intent, but she isn’t going to let murder get in the way of her wedding plans.
This book took me a bit to get into at first, I will admit, but I had a fun time with it overall. We’re following a couple of perspectives. Adrianna gives some really interesting insights into the life as an almost intentional bridezilla while we get more of investigative side from Holly. This is an intentionally over the top world as Adrianna’s family is in the night club industry and known for garnering a lot of attention.
There was a lot to take in with numerous characters, multiple events leading up to the wedding and a lot of backstory about Adrianna’s past experiences with a kidnapping and her time at school with some of the other bridesmaids. Once we got to the wedding venue and settled a bit, I was able to get more enmeshed in the mystery of the story.
Overall I had a good time with this one! THE BRIDESMAID is out today!
